Our Visit to El Escorial By Elias This weekend we went to visit El Escorial. We slept in a hotel. First we visited the palace built by King Philip II in the 1500s. It was huge! It had a library, and we went into a room that had paintings of all the kings of Spain. It also had a huge church and a sculpture of the palace. Me and Kiko played in the garden that was like a maze. We ran a lot.  After, we went to a hotel. And then we went to a village made out of straw and plywood. My papá told me that this was a belén, which is what they call a Nativity scene here in Spain. I had fun hiding in the village. The hotel was sweet! There was a tv in each room. There was also a sauna and outside there was also a pool, but it was closed for the winter. At breakfast I ate first a breakfast of chocolate (brownie, cookie, croissant, and a donut - each one was pretty small), AND THEN I had a healthy breakfast of fruits. By Kiko Last week I started school, the school's name is Nuestra Señora de la Paloma. It is a bilingual school, Its facilities are really good. We have about one hour of each class, we come in at nine and school ends at four. Lunch is great, first we have one plate of delicious food, like macaroni and cheese or lentils or soup. Then we have chicken, fish or salad. And finally, dessert. sometimes we have yogurt or an orange or a banana or a pear etc. Heres a picture of my school: (it goes all the way around the block) We get to use the computadoras on Thursday. And to get to the playground we go trough a underground tunnel that goes under the street.(best way to travel!). Also, on Thursday we get three hours strait of recess. on other days we have two clases go outside for 30 minutes and then we have two more classes and we go outside for 1 hour 30 minutes. In my new school I am in 5th grade so in math we are doing devision with decimals. here I will show you an example:   ...

Trenches of the Spanish civil war

Image
The other day, we went to some trenches from the Spanish civil war. When we got there we had to follow a short path to the firing positions. Then we entered an under ground tunnel. There was also a paper that said "do not enter, risk of collapse" but we felt safe and went in. After we got in, it was dark yet cool. At the the start it was steep but then it leveled and got a little bit narrow, the tunnel went about 50 yards and it exited to another trench. we liked it so much that we did it again.

Los dos primeros días en madrid

Image
No he dormido mucho y cuando hemos llegado a madrid he vomitado (No era muy divertido). En madrid fuimos en taxi a la casa de mis abuelos. He jugado con mis primas y hace buen tiempo.
